STRENGTH IS POWER POST COLLAPSE

What would cause society to breakdown, to stop functioning? A natural disaster? Economic collapse? Civil war? Foreign invasion? Nuclear war? Global climate change? The downfall of government? Pestilence? Famine? Massive migration? Aside from nuclear war, our collective human history is littered with examples of all of these causes of societal collapse. Why should we presume that we are not to suffer the same fait as that of countless human generations before us? We shouldn’t, any and all of the above could happen to us.

What results when the social economic systems fail? When civil law breaks down. When civic services stop being offered? Police stop receiving pay cheques. Water doesn’t flow. Hospitals close. Supplies become difficult to obtain. The electricity goes off. Fuel runs out. Disease starts to spread. Fights break out. Strong take from weak. Migration accelerates. Atrocities happen.

People band together for security, trying to hold on to what they have, or to take what they need. Personal moral values decide the actions of individuals. Good vs. evil. It will happen, it is happening, it has always happened.

The rise of gangs in a post collapse world is inevitable. What will you do when faced with this reality?

Will you flee, and if so, to where, to what?

Will you form your own gang, your own group? What group dynamics will be played out to determine the pecking order? Strong on top, weak on the bottom?

Will you join another existing group? Become a gun for hire, subjected to the will of another for your survival?

What will you have to offer a group that would be of value? Are you a trained fighter? Do you posses a specialize skill set or trade skills or knowledge? Investing now in your personal development, development of hard skills, is one of the most worthwhile uses of any survivalists time. Hard skills: soldiering, medic, doctor, nurse, farmer, mechanic, blacksmith, builder, weapons tech, you get the idea. Learn a skill that can keep you alive, master it.

There are many modern examples of social collapse - Afghanistan, Rwanda, the former Yugoslavia - Serbia, Croatia, Kosovo, Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, Somolia, Argentina, Cambodia, Venezuela. Easy to look at this list of countries and say that we are not like them. Don’t think it could happen to us, you’re wrong. Look at Ukraine.

An excellent book that details the events of the collapse in Serbia / Croatia is “When SHTF” by Selco Davoic. I highly recommend this book. Sleco survived the events of the Balkan Wars and details how he managed. His stories speak to the truth of gangs, rival factions, strong taking from weak, and all those caught between.

Never stop preparing.
